Molde, point Julneset.
WB Norwegen, Art.Gr. Möre, M.K.B. Jul 1/505, 4x10,5cm.
Follow the coast road, the 662 from Molde towards Hollingen (the ferry to the island Gossen).
Take the exit on to the 668, towards the ferry harbour (direction Solholmen), a few hundred meters from that exit is a small road on your left hand; this sand road leads to a parking place deep inside the forest. From there you can walk towards the water, there are signs and information boards about the bunkers.
The construction of the battery was finished around July 1940; it had four emplacements for a 10,5cm gun and lots of supporting bunkers. There are lots of different emplacements; the four for the 10,5cm guns, one smaller one which could be for a supporting 7,5cm field gun, a second small emplacement connected to a small shelter which also could be for a 7,5cm gun and one emplacement which function is unknown to us. A highlight is the fire-control bunker, 636a, which looks absolutely beautiful especially with all the nice shapes and rounding's of this type of bunker.
There are some very nice examples of Norwegian style bunkers; the impressive living quarters which look like regular houses. They are beautiful camouflaged in the surrounding, the combination of natural stones, concrete and especially wood is just fabulous. Some nice trenches with field positions make this battery worth a visit.
